data-end=\"1308\">\n<li data-start=\"1026\" data-end=\"1149\">Some detainees are <strong data-start=\"1047\" data-end=\"1063\">not informed<\/strong> of their <strong data-start=\"1073\" data-end=\"1089\">legal rights<\/strong>, such as the right to contact their families or a lawyer.<\/li>\n<li data-start=\"1150\" data-end=\"1308\"><strong data-start=\"1152\" data-end=\"1174\">Intentional delays<\/strong> in notifying lawyers about their clients\u2019 detention, depriving detainees of <strong data-start=\"1251\" data-end=\"1275\">legal representation<\/strong> during initial interrogations.<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<h4 data-start=\"1310\" data-end=\"1362\"><strong data-start=\"1315\" data-end=\"1360\">Discrimination and Poor Living Conditions<\/strong><\/h4>\n<ul data-start=\"1363\" data-end=\"1576\">\n<li data-start=\"1363\" data-end=\"1431\"><strong data-start=\"1365\" data-end=\"1383\">Unequal access<\/strong> to food in data-start=\"1953\" data-end=\"1974\">torture continues<\/strong>, often leaving <strong data-start=\"1990\" data-end=\"2014\">no physical evidence<\/strong>, with detainees subjected to <strong data-start=\"2044\" data-end=\"2083\">hours-long forced sitting positions<\/strong> to extract confessions.<\/li>\n<li data-start=\"2110\" data-end=\"2221\"><strong data-start=\"2112\" data-end=\"2146\">Weak accountability mechanisms<\/strong>, with serious allegations of torture rarely being investigated properly.<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<h3 data-start=\"2223\" data-end=\"2301\"><strong data-start=\"2227\" data-end=\"2299\">Administrative Detention at General Security: A Case of Overcrowding<\/strong><\/h3>\n<p data-start=\"2303\" data-end=\"2491\">A delegation from <em data-start=\"2321\" data-end=\"2331\">An-Nahar<\/em> visited the <strong data-start=\"2344\" data-end=\"2400\">General Security Investigation and Procedures Center<\/strong>, where <strong and women), but in reality, it houses between <strong data-start=\"2620\" data-end=\"2639\">300 and 400 men<\/strong>.<\/li>\n<li data-start=\"2643\" data-end=\"2772\"><strong data-start=\"2645\" data-end=\"2669\">Overcrowding Causes:<\/strong> Security and judicial authorities <strong data-start=\"2704\" data-end=\"2738\">refuse to accept new detainees<\/strong> due to <strong investigations.<\/li>\n<li data-start=\"3223\" data-end=\"3325\"><strong data-start=\"3225\" data-end=\"3255\">Lack of real legal reforms<\/strong>, despite <strong data-start=\"3265\" data-end=\"3291\">international pressure<\/strong> to improve detainee conditions.<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<h3 data-start=\"3327\" data-end=\"3374\"><strong data-start=\"3331\" data-end=\"3372\">Recommendations to Address the Crisis<\/strong><\/h3>\n<p data-start=\"3375\" data-end=\"3781\">\u2714 <strong data-start=\"3377\" data-end=\"3396\">Expedite trials<\/strong> and
